Suns get Childress from AtlantaBasketball Betting Lines07/14/2010 - Atlanta, GA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Phoenix Suns have acquired guard Josh Childress from the Atlanta Hawks in a sign-and-trade deal for a future second- round draft pick. In addition to the draft pick, Atlanta will get a trade exception to use within the next year. "Once we decided not to match Phoenix's offer, it made sense for us to work with the Suns in a sign-and-trade transaction," said Atlanta general manager Rick Sund. "The move allows us to add a second-round pick to our draft arsenal. In addition, we add a trade exception." Childress played with Olympiacos Greece over the past two seasons after spending four seasons with the Hawks from 2004-08. He was made the sixth overall pick in 2004 by Atlanta, and over 285 NBA games, averaged 11.1 points and 5.6 rebounds.
